Household dynamic:
- This family’s 5-year-old and 3-year-old are described by their parents as being curious, sweet, adventurous, and smart. They are both great travelers who have already been to seven countries and counting! The children are enrolled in daycare/preschool Monday through Thurs/Friday and are always eager to share about their day as they play at the park after school.
- True to the Colorado lifestyle, this family spends almost every weekend of the winter months at their mountain home where they love to ski! They look forward to finding a nanny who shares their love of skiing (or snowboarding) and outdoor adventure and who will be excited to join them on weekends at their home in the mountains! When they aren’t traveling to the mountains, this family loves to stay active in Denver by hiking, biking, swimming, visiting the zoo, children’s museum, aquarium, or one of the many parks throughout the city. They also have one dog and one cat so pet lovers should apply!
- Frequent domestic and international travel to destinations such as Europe, Hawaii, and Mexico is a regular part of this family’s life both with and without the kids. Previous destinations where nannies have traveled include Tahiti, Croatia, London, Cabo, the Big Island of Hawaii, and several states. When traveling with the kids, the nanny would join them. When traveling without the kids a few times per year, the nanny would stay home with the children and pets. With a flexible work schedule and work-from-home careers, the family is eager to find someone who shares a co-parenting mentality and who will be a collaborative partner as they establish a routine.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a candidate who is excited to travel, brings a can-do spirit to their role, and can maintain a positive attitude during the craziness of travel! A candidate who is confident, trustworthy, extremely punctual, and fun, and who can also set clear boundaries with their two young children is crucial. The family looks forward to working with someone who likes to engage in and plan creative projects with the kids, play pretend, explore nature, understand the value of silliness, and has experience working with two kids in one role. A candidate who is eager and excited about fostering an honest and open relationship with the parents, and who appreciates regular communication and check-ins is key. A candidate who is truly open to giving and receiving feedback in a professional, collaborative way will be valued!
- Responsibilities include: creating a safe and loving environment for the children to learn and thrive! This includes but is not limited to, proactively planning enriching activities, engaging in arts and crafts, conducting reading and letter practice for kindergarten prep, supporting educational enrichment opportunities, planning adventures to local attractions, swimming with the kids, transporting the children to and from scheduled events, children’s meal prep, child-related tidying, and children’s laundry. This role also includes light family assisting duties such as organizational projects, light pet care, errands, and light plant care when the parents are out of town.
- Travel experience is a requirement for this role. The family would love to work with a candidate who has family travel nanny experience, with particular excitement for candidates who have traveled internationally with a family! As the family loves to ski and snowboard, they would also love to meet a candidate who shares in and has these passions, though not a requirement for an otherwise perfect outdoor-loving applicant.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Knowledge and experience with preschool and early elementary-age children
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water frequently
- Dog and Cat friendly! Willing to support light pet care when the parents are out of town
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
- Punctuality
- Strong communication skills
