CLOSED - Enriching, Communicative Career Nanny Needed For Synergetic, Gentle Parenting-Focused SF Family

A gentle, organized, and collaborative Bay Area family is seeking a detail-oriented, professional, and collaborative nanny to join their team!

• Location: San Francisco, CA
• Ages of children: 2 and 4 years old
• Start date/Contract dates: November 1st, 2022, or as soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general scheduling falling Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 10am-6pm, Friday from 2-10pm, and Saturday from 10am-6pm. Thursday and Sunday will be off. A candidate who is open to traveling with advanced notice, and collaborating with the family on designing a schedule that best supports all parties will be key.
• Compensation: The family is offering $55-60/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $115-125k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance and/or a health insurance stipend, and a vehicle for professional use based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-out.

• These dynamic and loving professional parents are seeking a career-oriented nanny to provide a safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment for their children. They have a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son and each attend preschool on alternate weekdays. Their daughter loves to read and write, and her parents are enthusiastically encouraging this passion and look forward to meeting a candidate who can do the same. Their son is a curious and active boy who always tries to keep up with his big sister. Both kids speak Mandarin as well as English and are always excited to dance, play age-appropriate games, be outdoors, and get lost in art projects.
• Maintaining a calm and organized home is very important to this family, as they work hard to create a fun and loving environment. The parents practice a gentle parenting philosophy and believe in connection before correction. They look forward to meeting a nanny who can operate in line with their vision for raising their children. Mom and Dad are both in and out of the house regularly, and they have a french bulldog and a housekeeper. As mom loves to collaborate and be involved in day-to-day care, a candidate who is enthusiastic about both partnering as well as being able to provide full-charge care, depending on the day’s schedule, will be key. This family travels 2-4 weeks per year and will be excited to find a nanny willing to join them occasionally.

• Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, driving children to/from school and activities, communicating with parents, and helping where needed with child-related tidying and meal prep. The family would love to meet a toddler-savvy candidate, familiar with sibling dynamics, and is open to adapting to a gentle parenting philosophy. The family has a small dog who is an important member of their family, and they look forward to meeting a pet-friendly nanny!
• Experience working in a staffed home environment would be appreciated in this role alongside a candidate who can maintain a high level of confidentiality and has excellent communication and judgment skills. The candidate must be enthusiastic about fulfilling the physical demands of the role such as running, climbing stairs, bending, twisting, and lifting objects weighing less than or equal to 35 pounds, without assistance.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would absolutely love to work with a candidate who has a Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in a child or education-related field, and who has experience or alignment with Montessori/Waldorf methods that they can lend to this position! Mandarin language would also be a bonus to continue the children’s exposure to the language.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid driver’s license and passport
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
• Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
• Dog friendly!
