CLOSED - Energetic Nanny/Family Assistant Needed For Bustling Westchester Family

A fun-loving family based in Dobbs Ferry, NY is seeking a proactive nanny/family assistant to join their family team!

• Location: Dobbs Ferry, NY (Westchester County)
• Ages of children: 5 years old, 9-year-old twins, and 12 years old. This is a team-oriented home, with a housekeeper at the home on weekdays. Mom works part time and is hands on in the day-to-day managing of the household and children, but appreciates the flexibility of having a nanny/family assistant to take breaks, work, pursue personal hobbies, and spend quality time with one to two kids at a time. Dad works full time with a somewhat inconsistent schedule and is engaged with the children as much as possible during his down time. Position will involve lots of teamwork and communication!
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, 4-day per week schedule guaranteeing 45 hours per week, currently falling on Thursday through Sunday. Candidates can anticipate working at least 10 hours of care each day between 6:30am (weekdays only, 8am on weekends) and 9pm, with at least one overnight each week. Flexibility for occasional travel, weekly set overnights, date nights, and seasonal shifts in schedule are necessary. Position will involve caring for some of the children in Dobbs Ferry or in New York City every 4-5 weeks so that Mom can take some kids to NYC for culture and special experiences.
• Compensation: The family is offering $40-45/hour based on the 45-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $87-111k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package. A vehicle will be provided for professional use.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in on duty optional, live-out during off-time.

• This kind, affectionate, boisterous and warm family of six (eight if you include their small senior dog and goldfish) love each other very much and work every day to be kind to one another, respect each other's needs, wants, and feelings, practice gratitude and empathy, and live well-rounded, active, healthy and happy lives. With four children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old, their household has many moving parts and involves lots of indoor and outdoor activities, including various sports, art, legos, reading, music, and theater. During the school year, all four children will be attending school and the family looks forward to having another set of hands to help them juggle their busy lives and activity schedules.
• The family describes themselves as being warm, spirited, energetic, loving, and open-minded, and they care deeply about education, good communication, and imparting good values to their kids. They love to eat, chat, and gather in their spacious kitchen, travel, enjoy and create art, listen to music, play sports, and read. Much of their time is spent with friends, neighbors, and cousins, several of whom live close by and come often for family dinners. When they’re not at home, they love spending time in NYC and going to their favorite beach in Fairfield, CT. Someone who is excited to join them on trips and has a zest for life will thrive in this position! The family also works with a full-time housekeeper during the week and mom is very involved in the day-to-day! • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to cooking, tidying and organizing of children’s areas, assisting with before and after school routines, homework help, coordinating and driving to playdates and activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties include tidying up common areas, running errands, grocery shopping, coordinating vendors, walking the dog, doing returns, organizational projects, and assisting with event planning.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would also love to work with a candidate who skis and would be partial to those who have a background in family assisting/ household management. An appreciation for food and nutrition and a love for cooking are also valuable assets in a candidate!

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional childcare experience
• Valid passport
• Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record and comfortable driving in/around NYC
• Knowledge and experience with elementary and middle school-aged children
• Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
• Pet friendly! Willing to support light pet care
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with local laws
