A warm and loyal DC family is seeking a playful, and educationally-minded nanny/family assistant to help care for their two children!
- Location: Chevy Chase, MD. In the summer, the family is based in the Hamptons.
- Ages of children: 3 years old and 7 months old
- Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 12pm-8pm or similar. Additional hours for evenings, weekends, and/or travel will be asked for in advance and appreciated!
- Compensation: The family is offering $40-50+/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $83-104+k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance based on the candidate’s need and the full benefits package.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-out while in Chevy Chase, MD. The family can provide a temporary landing pad for the perfect relocation candidate. Live in during the summer months in the Hamptons. The family will provide private accommodations while traveling.

They believe that learning should be fun and integrated into a child’s everyday routine. Their 3-year-old son is a curious, imaginative, and adventurous little boy who loves to learn. He is very excited to begin attending full-day preschool in the fall. Their 7-month-old son will be cared for primarily by the family’s live-in nanny, but as he gets older there will be occasional opportunities for the new nanny to play, read, and engage with him. In addition to this family’s current live-in nanny, they also have a part-time chef and live near a set of grandparents, so a candidate who thrives in a warm and collaborative environment will be valued.
- The parents have intense work schedules as entrepreneurs and founders of their own companies. They work from home (occasionally from outside offices) and are in and out of the house regularly. They also love to travel. They spend their summer at their home in the Hamptons, and will make additional trips there throughout the year, especially during the holiday season. Additional travel destinations throughout the year include NYC, California, Florida, Europe, and more. They look forward to working with someone who enjoys summers at the beach & traveling and would be excited to help plan travel itineraries for the kids.

- This position is ideal for a professional nanny/family assistant who loves working with toddlers and preschool-aged children and who has a childhood education background! A candidate who understands early childhood development and behavior through a lens of social-emotional, cognitive, and motor skills development and brings an educational bend to their work will thrive in this role. These parents are excited to partner with a candidate who views every moment of play as an opportunity to teach and fulfill their son’s sense of curiosity. Someone who can continuously adapt to the children’s needs as they grow is essential.
- Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the children to learn and thrive! This includes, but is not limited to proactively planning enriching activities, engaging in arts and crafts, supporting developmental milestones and educational opportunities, planning playdates, and transporting the children to and from school/classes/activities. This role also requires family assisting duties such as grocery shopping, running errands, child-related household duties, and travel. Bonus points if a candidate enjoys planning travel itineraries for the children to ensure they enjoy age-appropriate experiences while traveling!
- The family would love to work with a candidate who enjoys swimming and is comfortable supervising children in the water.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge and experience with toddlers and preschool-aged children and their developmental milestones
- Formal or informal background in early childhood education
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
