CLOSED - Educationally-Minded, Fun-Loving Nanny Needed For Active San Francisco Family

An outgoing and engaging San Francisco family is seeking an adventurous and educational nanny to join them in caring for their two kids!

• Location: San Francisco, CA
• Ages of children: 8 and 6.5 years old
• Start date/Contract dates: January 2024
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Tuesday-Saturday from 3:00-10:00pm or similar. Flexibility for additional hours, especially during travel, will be asked for in advance and appreciated.
• Compensation: The family is offering $45-50/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $93-104k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience and pending live-in or live-out status.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a housing stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-in or live-out. If live-in, the family is offering a private bedroom and ensuite bath in a separate floor of the family’s home. If live-out, the family may be open to providing a temporary landing pad for the perfect relocation candidate.

Household dynamic:

• This fun and flexible family of four describes their 8-year-old son as a tinkerer who loves to fix and experiment with machines and their parts. He is also a sweet and sensitive kid who loves to love his people. His 6.5-year-old sister is described as being a sociable bundle of energy who literally cartwheels around the house! Both kids are in school full-time and have full activity schedules. Additionally, the children each have their own cleaning and laundry schedules, and the parents focus on nurturing their executive functioning skills and hope their nanny will be excited to aid in the development of life skills and independence. The family’s 8-year-old has been diagnosed with autism and while he is very well regulated, he does need some support with his executive functioning skills. The family has visual and auditory reminders throughout his spaces as one method of support. A candidate who is able to help nurture this part of his development will be appreciated!
• These dual-career parents look forward to dividing and conquering with their nanny to ensure both kids receive the care and attention they need while managing their busy schedules. When they’re able, this family enjoys frequent travel to Lake Tahoe and other domestic locations and during those times they find excitement in skiing, ziplining, bicycling, and more! A candidate who would be game to join them on travel and adventures is more than welcome!

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for someone who has an educational background and who loves working with elementary-aged children. Fostering a love of learning is an important aspect of this role, so someone who naturally loves to learn, and who can help with homework will be a great fit! Someone who understands how the Math curriculum is taught in elementary school will be valued. This family would love to work with a candidate who enjoys collaboration and brings a team-minded approach to the day.
• Responsibilities include providing a warm and nurturing environment for the children to learn and grow. This includes but is not limited to picking up the child(ren) from school, driving to activities and birthday parties, basic children’s meal prep, homework help, and being able to see a need and fill a need.
• While not a requirement for this role, the family would love to work with a candidate who would be excited to join the family in skiing, ziplining, bicycling, and more!

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• A background in elementary education is strongly preferred!
• Knowledge and experience with elementary-age children
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
