A bustling, active Chicago area family is seeking a lively, flexible nanny to join them in caring for their children!
- Location: Lake Forest, IL
- Ages of children: Ages 3-13. This is a team-oriented home, and the candidate will rarely have sole-charge care of all four children.
- Start date: May 2024
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40-45 hours per week, with the general schedule falling on five days per week from 12 pm to 8 pm, or similar. The family looks forward to creating schedules 1-2 months in advance. Flexibility for travel and schedule variations will be valued. Additional hours to support overnights and a Saturday or Sunday ~1-3 times per month will be asked for in advance and appreciated.
- Compensation: The family is offering $45-50/hour based on the 40-45 hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $93-123k/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits, including paid time off, sick leave, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, a housing stipend, and relocation assistance dependent on candidate need.

Household dynamic:
- This sporty, family-oriented crew is excited to find a nanny to join their team. With four boys ranging in age from 13 to 3, there is never a dull moment! From music and art to robotics and engineering, their children stay engaged with a variety of hobbies. The eldest three attend school during the week, and the role will primarily focus on their youngest who attends half-days of preschool. They joke that the youngest runs the house, and has the biggest personality of them all! They value fostering an environment that lets each child develop their individuality. Someone who is excited to be a beam of encouragement and a playmate to their kids will be an ideal fit.
- They lives near beautiful Lake Michigan near other family members, and enjoy all that the environment has to offer including boating and water sports. Travel is a big part of life of the family, and they regularly spend time at the lake, visiting the beach, and going skiing in the winter. This year they have lots of exciting international trips planned- someone who’s excited to adventure with them is key! They have had wonderful experiences and longevity with past caregivers and staff, many of whom they still work with on an occasional basis. Both parents are regularly in and out of the house, and get a lot of joy from spending time with their kids. Someone who is excited to join their warm family team will be a great fit. They have two dogs at home (as well as a fish and a frog), so dog-friendliness is key!

- This position is ideal for a candidate who brings a positive, adventure-ready mindset to each day! A candidate who is excited about the opportunity to travel and be active alongside this family will be a great fit. As the role will be focused on the 3-year-old, a candidate who is well versed with the toddler through early elementary years and can support their youngest child’s development and encourage him to explore his interests is key. Someone who enjoys variety and being on the move will enjoy this role, where no two days are the same!
- Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, supporting the family with occasional overnight care when one parent travels, and traveling with the family frequently throughout the year.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Knowledge and experience with preschool, elementary, and middle school-age children
- Experience traveling with families and children
- Ability to physically lift 40 pounds (hockey bags and toddlers!)
- Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
- Dog friendly!
