CLOSED - Dynamic Nanny/Family Assistant Needed For Intellectual Pittsburgh Family

A close-knit, outdoorsy Pittsburgh, PA family is seeking a confident nanny/family assistant to join their family in caring for their 5 and 11-year-old children!

• Location: Pittsburgh, PA
• Ages of children: 5 and 11 years old
• Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
• Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm. Flexibility for date night coverage, occasional travel, and additional hours as needed or when parents are traveling will be appreciated.
• Compensation: The family is offering $35/hour based on a 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $73k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full benefits package. A vehicle for professional use will be provided dependent on candidate need.
• Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. A temporary landing pad will be provided for the perfect relocation candidate!

They deeply value ensuring their children are in a secure, loving environment and are passionate about child development. At 5 and 11 years old, both children will be attending school full-time next year. Their 11-year-old daughter is a fantasy-reading, rock climbing, math, and video-game-loving rising sixth grader. Their 5-year-old son is a high-energy, boundary-pushing, board-game-loving rising kindergartener.
• The family loves the outdoors, always looking forward to their next backpacking trip, skiing vacation, or aquatic adventure! They strive to raise their children to treat all people with respect and make sure to provide a professional, appreciative work environment for the people who work in their home, which includes a hybrid cook-housekeeper and occasional maid service. They are seeking a nanny/family assistant who is eager to work together as a fluid team to create an enriching, supportive, and intellectually curious environment for their children and family. Having enjoyed a great relationship with an Adventure Nanny/Family Assistant for the last 2 years, they are so excited to welcome another dedicated, can-do person to their team with hopes of a long-term fit!

Ideal candidate:

• This position is ideal for a candidate who is organized and ready to jump in with both feet and who is passionate about supporting children’s growth and development! These devoted parents are team-oriented and excited to work in tandem with their caregiver, and a collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills are essential. An organized, all-hands-on-deck candidate with a readiness to be an extra support beam for the entire family will be highly valued.
• This role will fluctuate between 60-70% family assisting duties and 30-40% childcare. The family is happy to shift duties and expectations based on a candidate’s skillset! Childcare duties include before and after school routines, providing care while school is out, coordinating activities, and assisting with homework. Family assisting duties include keeping the family calendar, making appointments, light household organizing and tidying, children’s activity coordination, children’s wardrobe/belonging management, grocery shopping, identifying and coordinating meals with the family cook, vendor management, and occasional projects.
• While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with experience working with children in a formal setting (childcare or elementary school) and/or an undergraduate degree in a child development-related field, a particular interest in supporting children in understanding themselves, and building the mindset for overcoming challenges.

Qualifications:

• 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge and experience with elementary and middle-school-age children
• Willingness to support family assisting and house management duties
• Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
