Closed
West Coast

An active San Francisco-based family of three is seeking a go-getter nanny/family assistant to join their household team for a 6-month contract!

  • Location: Presidio, San Francisco, CA
  • Ages of children: 7 and 13 years old. The family has two teenagers who attend boarding school during the year and do not require care.
  • Start date/Contract dates: mid-December through mid-June 2023. The family can be flexible on start and end dates for an otherwise perfect candidate.
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 36 hours per week, regardless of hours worked, on the following rotational schedule:
    • Week A: Sunday - Wednesday and Friday-Saturday
    • Week B: Sunday-Monday
    • The candidate can anticipate supporting before school (6:45am-9:15am), afterschool (2-6pm), and weekend (9-6pm) routines on their working days in addition to a few hours of family assisting support on B weeks and while the children are at school.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $35-40+/hour based on the 36-hour/week schedule, including 4 guaranteed hours at the overtime rate, which equates to a base weekly compensation range of $1,300-1,550+/week dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family is open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full benefits package.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. For candidates who would be relocating to SF for this contract, the family will provide private on-site or short-term rental accommodations nearby.

Household dynamic:

  • This San Francisco family’s nanny is heading out on maternity leave in the new year, and they are looking for a nanny/family assistant who can support them in the interim! At 7 and 13 years old, the children split time between their parents' homes. The 7-year-old attends a local school, while his older sibling will be away at boarding school for several months during the winter and spring months. The family has two older children who attend boarding school, but maybe around for a couple of weeks while they are on holiday breaks. The candidate will support them at their dad’s house, and work in tandem with both dad and his executive assistant on keeping their lives and household running smoothly.
  • The children are first priority, but pitching in with other family assisting duties will take the forefront while the kids are with their mother. Communication is key on this team, and the dad looks forward to working with someone who can share more about the children’s needs and behaviors as things arise. While there are no major travel plans in the works, a candidate who is willing to support light travel to other destinations in California during their contract will be appreciated.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a candidate who is positive, reliable, and enjoys a flexible, dynamic working environment! A candidate who is proactive, fun-loving, and team-minded who is excited to divide and conquer with dad will be an asset to this team. Someone who can provide a balance between fun and responsibilities - the family looks forward to working with a candidate who can meet the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs of the children.
  • Responsibilities include creating an environment for the family to grow and thrive, supporting after-school routines, assisting with basic meal preparation for the children (and ideally for the parent as well!), running errands, coordinating vendors, light child-related tidying and laundry, identifying back up support (if needed!), and pitching in where needed.
  • This is a wonderful opportunity for a candidate who wants to support a dynamic, welcoming family and experience life in San Francisco for a few months!

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Open to providing simple, healthy meal prep for the children (and ideally the whole family!)
  • Familiarity and willingness to provide basic family assisting support
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
