Flexibility to provide occasional overnight coverage and to travel with the family throughout the year will be essential. However, while in Houston, the family has a network of sitters who are able to watch monitors in the evenings as needed after bath and bedtime.

Household dynamic:
- This lively Houston-based family is eager to find another rotational nanny to join their team! The family’s 4-year-old son is described as being sweet, curious, well-behaved, sensitive, and highly intelligent. He loves the natural world, and so someone who likes the outdoors and doesn't mind bugs would be ideal! Their youngest is described as a funny, energetic 2-year-old who is as precocious physically as she is verbally. She is already a runner with a high motor, has a big vocabulary she uses to express strong opinions, and doesn't miss a beat. Pet friendliness is key, as they have two small and medium-sized rescue dogs.
- The family has significant professional obligations and also travels extensively for pleasure, both internationally and domestically to destinations such as their family home in Aspen for winter sports; Carmel for hiking and beachcombing; warm-water ports to meet the family yacht for scuba diving and other water sports; and international destinations across North America, Asia and Europe for work trips. They value creating a sustainable, supportive, and highly professional work environment and have loved working with their Adventure Nannies nanny team. They also employ a family assistant and housekeepers. The family is hopeful to have another child in the coming years, so infant experience is necessary.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for a caregiver who is experienced with the newborn through early elementary years and can provide steady reassurance, routine, and behavioral redirection where needed to help their children grow to be autonomous, expressive, and confident! A caregiver who is eager to support children’s holistic development and has previous ECE experience is required.
- The family hopes to work with a nanny with a comprehensive approach to and passion for child development and can help foster social-emotional learning. Willingness to provide a helping hand throughout the home with various family assisting tasks such as kitchen stocking, general organizing, etc., will be appreciated.
- While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with a Montessori and/or ABA background. The family’s children do not have special needs, but they have found the ABA background/skill set invaluable in their past caregivers.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of professional, full-time childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants, toddlers, and early elementary-aged children
- Early Childhood Education background
- Strong swimmer and comfortable caring for children in/around water
- Dog-friendly
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
