A warm, inclusive, and fun-loving family based in downtown Chicago is seeking an experienced, hands-on, and infant-savvy nanny to join them in caring for their daughter!
- Location: Chicago, IL
- Ages of children: 4 months old
- Start date/Contract dates: Asap or as soon as they find the perfect fit
- Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. Additional hours for date nights or weekend support will be asked in advance and appreciated. The family looks forward to outlining a detailed weekly schedule with the candidate 4-6 weeks in advance.
- Compensation: The family is offering $30-35/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $63-73k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
- Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on the candidate's need and the full benefits package. Driving is not a requirement for this position.
- Live-in/Live-out: Live-out. The family may be open to providing a temporary landing pad for the perfect relocation candidate while they secure housing.
Household dynamic:
- These first-time parents living in downtown Chicago are loving life with their new daughter! At 4 months old, their daughter is described by her parents as being a sweet and easygoing baby who is sleeping and eating well, and loves to be outside! They also have a very friendly dog who will be excited to snuggle with a new friend, so dog lovers please apply! In their free time, this family loves exploring the city, trying new foods, meeting interesting people, and giving back to their community. They hope to work with a candidate who can help them instill those same values in their wonderful kiddo and become a member of their family in the process.
- These dual-career parents are very hands-on and they look forward to developing a collaborative relationship with their nanny. One parent works from home, while the other has a variable schedule and is in and out of the house on a regular basis. They are eager to foster a supportive and consistent environment for their nanny and child to thrive! Both parents are bilingual, speaking Gujarati and Spanish, and would love for their daughter to have more exposure to languages as she grows, but they will prioritize qualifications and personality fit first and foremost.
Ideal candidate:
- This position is ideal for someone who is developmentally and educationally minded, interactive, proactive, and outgoing! A candidate who loves infants and toddlers and who is excited to grow alongside the family will be appreciated. A true partnership is very important to this family, so a candidate who performs well with daily collaboration and communication, and who is able to help them create and maintain structure will be key. A candidate who loves to explore and who will be proactive about getting the baby outside for new adventures every day will thrive in this position.
- This is a child-focused role, and all responsibilities will be child-related. Responsibilities include creating a loving and safe environment for the child to grow and thrive! This includes but is not limited to tag-teaming with both parents, light child-related housekeeping, children’s laundry, planning enriching activities, and a general willingness to pitch in where needed.
- While not a requirement for this position, the family would love to work with a candidate who has an educational background or experience (Montessori preferred), and who speaks either Gujarati or Spanish.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
- Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
- Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care.
