Household dynamic:

  • This tight-knit, grounded Bay area family is seeking a warm and learning-oriented nanny/family assistant to join their team in caring for their 2-year-old daughter! They describe their daughter as a sensitive, joyful child who loves expressing herself through art, dancing to music, playing golf, and spending hours creating stories and games. The family cherishes every moment with their daughter and is excited to welcome their second child in April 2025, who will be cared for by another caregiver for the first few months. Someone who can actively engage and facilitate enriching activities with their children and create magical moments each day will be a wonderful fit. The family does not have pets in their home, but they own a farm just five minutes away from their home that their daughter loves to visit. The farm has dogs, cats, goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, chickens, and many more. While pet care is not required, an animal-friendly candidate is essential.
  • The family fosters a close-knit multi-generational household where both parents love spending time with their extended family and are actively involved in their daily lives. They frequently move between homes within the family’s vicinity, often spending time with siblings and parents, which creates a warm and social environment.  Mom is highly involved with her children’s lives and is seeking operational support. A candidate who will strike a balance between stepping in to support their needs and stepping out to allow for important family time and keep their household operations running smoothly will be key! The family splits their time between their residences in Northern California, Los Angeles, and London. They often spend their summers in the UK as they travel to destinations in Europe like Mykonos and St. Tropez. They also enjoy visiting Hawaii a few times a year. An on-the-go candidate who enjoys traveling, is adaptable in managing transitions between locations, and more importantly, embraces these journeys as opportunities for adventure and learning will be a perfect fit! Their household staff and those employed by their extended family work together as a collaborative team to keep their busy household running smoothly. They will value a team-oriented candidate who can smoothly integrate into their dynamics and work harmoniously with both the family members and other household staff.

Ideal Candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a naturally warm, energetic, and professional nanny/family assistant who is experienced in caring with toddlers and is excited about welcoming a newborn into the mix. The family seeks someone who takes a learning-focused approach to their care, fostering their children’s curiosity, creativity, and engagement in daily routines. A candidate who can make daily moments both fun and enriching, whether it’s turning an afternoon into an art adventure, making piano practice fun, or discovering teaching opportunities through outdoor activities and simple garden explorations will fit in! A calm, highly organized candidate who can read the room and know when to step in and out while supporting and managing the household will be greatly appreciated. Someone competent and has the energy to keep up with the myriad of family assisting tasks and childcare responsibilities involved in running a home will thrive in this role! The family values trustworthiness, authenticity, and the ability to form genuine connections, and a candidate who is eager to join the family’s journey and help them shape their children’s early years will thrive in this role.
