We are thrilled to announce Summit Session #10 which will take place in our private Facebook group on November 23rd at 9am (PST)/12pm (EST). For this month’s live stream we’re delighted to speak with the creative and talented Christina Vlinder, a RIE® associate and professional nanny.
Christina Vlinder’s philosophy of infant and toddler care is inspired by the work of infant specialist Magda Gerber, who created the Educaring® Approach and founded Resources for Infant Educarers® (RIE®). Christina became a RIE® Associate in 2017 and has been studying with RIE® since 2010. She has been working with infants and older children as a nanny since 1999. She uses her knowledge of the Educaring® Approach and years of experience working with children to train other nannies in best practices. She is also a full-time nanny.
Learn How To:
In this session, we will be discussing an aspect of respectful care. The Educaring® Approach, also known as RIE®, is a philosophy of care for infants and toddlers that emphasizes respectful, reciprocal relationships where children are active participants in their care.
Babies and toddlers are allowed to experience the joys of independent play and to develop in their own way at their own time. This developmentally appropriate approach to infant care is becoming increasingly sought after by families, all of whom want a “RIE Nanny!” Learning the basics of the approach is a must for nannies looking for work, and the gentle discipline techniques discussed will benefit all nannies.
- Learn the basic principles of the Educaring® Approach (RIE®)
- Hear practical and effective suggestions for gentle discipline
- Learn techniques for infant care that make the job more joyful for both nanny and child while supporting secure attachment
