Proactive House Manager/Nanny Needed For Joyful Ohio Family

This lively, close-knit family is seeking a warm and flexible house manager/ nanny to join their family! 

 

  • Location: Gates Mills, Ohio
  • Ages of children: 4, 6, 9, and 11 years old
  • Start date: As soon as the family finds the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 45-55 hours (depending on candidate preference) per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Thursday from 7am to 7pm, with a slightly shorter day on Friday. The family is happy to provide an extended break during the day if a candidate is interested in personal time (e.g., 7-11 am and 3-7 pm with break from 11 am-3 pm).
  • Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $82-130+k/year.
  • Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • Live-in/ Live-out: Flexible to live-in or live-out. If live-in, a private bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor of the family’s home will be provided.

Household dynamic: 

  • This bustling, active family of six is seeking a proactive and organized household manager/nanny to join their crew! They have four dynamic daughters, ages 4, 6, 9, and 11 years old, as well as an endearing 5-year-old dog. The girls attend school during the week and love being involved in extracurriculars, including sports such as soccer, tennis, and lacrosse, as well as creative activities like dance, drama, singing, and more! Throughout the day, the candidate will be responsible for household and logistics support. Once the children get home from school, the candidate will pivot to supporting afternoon and evening routines.
  • These dual-physician parents work from home (in research and entrepreneurial roles) with two dedicated offices separate from the family living spaces. They enjoy spending time with their multi-generation family and traveling to exciting destinations, with frequent trips to Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, Miami, and the South Carolina beach, as well as annual international adventures – usually at least once yearly to South Africa, as well as new excursions in East Africa, Europe, Latin America, and beyond. The parents spent a decade living between Boston and Cape Town, so it is important to them to ensure the girls feel connected to South Africa.

Ideal Candidate 

  • An energetic and fun-loving candidate who is travel-ready and great at juggling priorities will thrive in this role!  The candidate must be detail-oriented and a self-starter who is comfortable managing household responsibilities with minimal supervision. The position is ideal for someone who can balance keeping the household running smoothly with supporting the children’s daily routines. A candidate who is naturally organized alongside being a playful role model for the children will fit right in with this family. The family aligns with candidates who are confident and adaptable. Someone who collaborates with parents to figure out what is and is not working and who energetically intuits and proactively meets needs will be a great source of support.
  • This is a hybrid role. Responsibilities include childcare and family assistant responsibilities. Childcare-related tasks include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, child-related household tasks include but are not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing children’s areas, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. Family assisting duties include managing the family calendar and logistics, running errands, meal planning and preparation, grocery shopping, loading/unloading the dishwasher, household inventory management, coordinating vendors, and light pet care.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with preschool through early elementary age groups
  • Ability to swim and comfort caring for children in and near water
  • Experience caring for multiple children
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Comfortable with dogs
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against flu and COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
