Household dynamic:

  • This loving return Adventure Nannies family is excited to embark on the adventure of a lifetime, and they are excited to partner with an educator who can learn alongside them as they travel the world. While they are typically based in Tulsa, these parents are excited to show their kids the world and a different way of life for the 2023-2024 school year. At ages 8 and 7, their eldest children love both sports, swimming, and Minecraft. Both children excel in academics, and the family is excited for them to have the opportunity to explore different learning pathways that support their children’s social, emotional, and spiritual growth. At 1-year-old, their youngest can’t get enough of peekaboo, small adventures, and snuggling! The family will have nanny support when traveling to help care for their 1-year-old and provide all non-schooltime care.
  • This family prioritizes a gentle, positive parenting approach with their children and hope to work with someone who aligns with and can incorporate this approach. They are enthusiastic about pursuing the Finland education model (half-day classroom instruction, half-day excursions) and will enjoy working with an educator who loves learning and can help instill joy and share new experiences as they travel!

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for an empathetic and versatile educator who is excited to make the world their classroom! Someone who is experienced and confident in supporting neurodivergent and/or ADHD learners is key for this role, as both of their eldest children experience some learning differences. A candidate with their own extensive travel experience, whether personal or professional, will be an asset in this role. The family appreciates everything from Montessori and Waldorf to World Schooling and will love working alongside an educator who can incorporate a variety of learning styles to meet their children where they are and inspire learning!
  • Responsibilities will include collaborating with parents to identify/create a tailored curriculum that supports the children’s growth using hands-on, inspiring learning experiences, and proactively researching and implementing activities. A supportive teacher and well-rounded role model who encourages the growth of the children as a whole will be appreciated.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who possesses a Master’s degree or other advanced certifications, is passionate about psychology or whole-person education, speaks multiple languages with preferences for Spanish, French, Arabic, and/or Dutch, or has had previous experience working as a private educator!

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of professional teaching experience in a classroom or homeschool setting
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Comfortability caring for children in and around water
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in a child or education-related field
  • Personal or professional travel experience, and an enthusiasm to explore wherever they are with their students

This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US.
