June 25, 2022 – Resources And Next Steps

At Adventure Nannies, we believe in equitable rights for all people, which includes equal access to healthcare and the freedom for all people to make the healthcare choices they deem appropriate for themselves. Keep reading to learn more about nationwide + regionally-available services and resources committed to supporting equitable, safe reproductive healthcare for all.

We strongly encourage you to conduct your own due diligence in researching any and all organizations before offering financial support or seeking their services.

Here are some nationwide resources for those seeking medical care that is not offered in their state:

  • Abortion Finder is a database of hundreds of trusted and verified abortion providers in the United States. If you live in a state with severe abortion restrictions, Abortion Finder’s filters allow you to find the nearest clinic that meets your needs — a clinic that doesn’t require a waiting period, one that will provide abortion after six weeks, or whatever else you may be looking for.
  • If you’re able to travel to a state where abortion is legal, a telehealth service can mail you abortion pills aka Plan C.
  • If you cannot travel, the Europe-based site AidAccess will connect you with an international pharmacy that sends abortion pills to all 50 US states.
  • The Repro Legal Helpline is a free, confidential helpline that provides information and advice to people seeking to self-manage their abortions.

When we unite in a collective vision of what the future could look like for the young people in our lives, we are able to have an enormous impact. We look forward to continuing to identify ways to support mutual aid, community-led safe access, and the restoration of equitable healthcare rights for all people.

Lastly, here are some final tips from Planned Parenthood as we continue on this shared path toward equity in healthcare:

❌ DON’T create new networks. ✅ Support experienced and existing organizations doing this work.

❌ DON’T “both sides” the issue. ✅ Listen to the experts and the evidence.

❌ DON’T exclude trans and gender non-conforming people from this conversation. ✅ Remember that people of all genders need and have abortions!

❌ DON’T assume you understand the complexity of this issue. ✅ Listen to abortion care organizations and their calls to action.

❌ DON’T encourage anyone to contact strangers for aid in accessing abortions. ✅ Again, support experienced organizations!

❌ DON’T try to be a hero. ✅ Focus on collective action.

❌ DON’T stay silent! ✅ Share this information widely so we can all make a meaningful impact in this fight for abortion care.
